Galipan Searches for Home: Writing and Illustrating a Children's Book
I've always wanted to write a children's book. Since little, I've been in awe of their power - the timelessness of the message intertwined with the vibrancy of the images that is able to capture the attention of both children and adults alike. At the start of 2024, I set off to fulfill a dream: intertwine my love for art and words to bring a beautiful children's book to this world.
After many nights of sketching and spending Sundays in cafes in Brooklyn, 'Galipan Searches for Home' was born. This journey led me to publish the book my seven-year-old self needed to read. She would have been proud.
"Galipan Searches for Home" follows the adventures of Galipan, a resilient plant uprooted from her familiar soil. As she embarks on a quest to discover what "home" truly means, she encounters a colorful cast of characters, from a wise elephant to a spirited hummingbird. Brimming with vibrant illustrations and a story rich in warmth and wonder, this tale invites readers young and old to explore themes of belonging, growth, and the bonds that make us feel "at home".
